Mistake A little speed bump that keeps a person in check! Mistakes happen due to the lack of knowledge. Mistakes help us to learn and become better people. So mistakes are good, right? Not if it is going TO COST YOU! A COSTLY MISTAKE IS WHAT MAKES A MISTAKE BAD! Genesis 2:17 “ but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” The worst mistake in human history! Adam and Eve eat the fruit of the Tree of knowledge. It cost them THEIR LIVES! It was the pursuit of knowledge and excellence instead of life that drove them to make this costly mistake! It was their desire to be THE BEST THAT DROVE THEM TO DISOBEY GOD! TO DISOBEY GOD IS A BIG MISTAKE! Adam and Eve put their HOPE AND TRUST ON THE FRUIT! NOT ON GOD! EGO, CAREER, JOB, CAR, HOUSE, MBA, WATCH, CLOTHES, SHOES HELP YOU LIVE A GOOD LIFE BUT THEY CANNOT HELP YOU ESCAPE DEATH! BUT GOD CAN AND GOD WILL HELP YOU LIVE! TRUST GOD NOT THE FRUIT! We make mistakes because we lack knowledge. Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” TO FEAR GOD IS WISDOM AND UNDERSTANDING. WE NEED TO FEAR GOD BECAUSE OUR LIVES DEPEND ON GOD NOT ON FRUITS OR ANYTHING ELSE! Matthew 10:28 “Don’t be afraid of those who can kill only your bodies—but can’t touch your souls! Fear only God who can destroy both soul and body in hell. You may have lived a life full of mistakes. But they have not cost you! You are still alive! You can still face tomorrow. Yet the day will come when you will have to say GOODBYE. THE DAY YOU DIE! BUT GOD SAYS YOU CAN LIVE! Make a decision today. TRUST GOD the choice is yours. DO NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE THAT WILL COST YOU YOUR LIFE! Mark 1:15 “The right time has come,” he said, “and the Kingdom of God is near! Turn away from your sins and believe the Good News!” REPENT AND BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST! WHY MUST WE REPENT? BECAUSE OF SIN! AND ALL HAVE SINNED! (Romans 3: 23) “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” AND THE REWARD OF SIN IS DEATH “ETERNAL DEATH” Romans 6: 23 “For the wages of sin is death,…” But JESUS IS GOD’s ATONEMENT FOR OUR SIN! 1 John 2:2 “He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.” 1 Peter 2:24 “He himself bore our sins” in his body on the cross, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; “by his wounds you have been healed.” Only through JESUS CHRIST CAN WE receive forgiveness for our SIN! REPENT FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SIN Don’t be too hard on yourself if you know that your past has caused a lot of pain for you and loved ones just bring it before JESUS CHRIST IN PRAYER! Just tell JESUS WHAT YOU HAVE DONE OF WHICH YOU ARE NOT PROUD OF! This is CONFESSION OF SIN! 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” ASK JESUS TO WIPE AWAY YOUR PAINFULL PAST, AND GIVE YOU HOPE FOR A NEW LIFE, FUTURE AND NEW DIRECTION! THE DIRECTION HOME! That is REPENTANCE! WHY MUST WE BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST AS OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR? For there is no one in history who has claimed to be the savior of humankind but JESUS CHRIST! John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” No religious leader, preacher or saint can save mankind but only JESUS CHRIST! And in his own words JESUS says, Luke 19:10 “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” John 3:17 “For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” JESUS DECLARES THAT GOD HIS FATHER HAS SENT HIM TO SAVE YOU AND ME! AND THAT WHO EVER BELIEVES IN HIM IS WELCOMED TO GODS KINGDOM! BELIEVE IN JESUS CHRIST TO BE SAVED ACCEPT JESUS TO BE THE LORD AND SAVIOUR OF YOUR LIFE! This is what it means to BELIEVE IN THE GOSPEL. ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST, YOU INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE! YOU BECOME A CHILD OF GOD. THE HEAVENLY FATHER WILL WELCOME YOU TO HIS HEAVENLY KINGDOM! You can invite JESUS BY PRAYING THE FOLLOWING PRAYER! (GENUINELY FROM THE VERY BOTTOM OF YOUR HEART) “Lord Jesus I need you. I open the door of my life and receive You as my Saviour and Lord. Thank You for the forgiveness of my sins. Take control of the throne of my life. Make me the kind of person You want me to be.” Amen. IT WAS NOT A MISTAKE! JESUS DIED IN ORDER TO SAVE US!
