Mitch Salmon 5 mins · When the children of Israel marched around the walls of Jericho they did not see immediate success. Each morning they arose. Each morning they assembled. Each day they marched. Each night they returned to their camp seemingly no closer to victory than when they began. Did they struggle to go around the wall on the second day? What about on the third day? What about the sixth day? Although their faith was put to the test we know that they persevered. They overcame doubt and in the end they received the victory. In the same way many of us find ourselves marching around the walls of Jericho. We march around them as we seek deliverance. We march around them as we seek healing. We march around them as we seek breakthrough. Yet for many they have not fallen and so it is hard not to wonder, “Has God heard my cry?” As we approach the seventh day (the number known to represent completion) its easy to come to the conclusion that we should just give up. Its easy to arrive at a place of doubt that tells us today will be just like yesterday. Yet the day of victory is before us and to those who persevere, it is surely on the horizon. The question is, will you march around the wall yet another time?
