Mitchell Nash and I just made it in from the big 5-1 trip to New - TopicsExpress

Mitchell Nash and I just made it in from the big 5-1 trip to New Orleans. It was a blast...blast-ed hawt!!!! It was like a 150 degrees the entire time. But well worth the trip. Having been to NOLA so many times in the past, but not since at least 2003, and Mitchell for 37 years, we did a bunch of new stuff neither of us had ever done...like tour St Louis Cemetery No.1 and Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, or just sit inside St Louis Cathedral and just enjoy the beauty (an air conditioning). We had fried oysters for breakfast at Stellas at Jackson Square...that definitely was a first and was so good we did it a second time this morning. We had dinner at Cafe Pontabla at Jackson Square and dined on barbeque shrimp intact with heads and swimming in herbed butter. Commanders Palace was the location of dinner last night and those pics are further down on my page. Today we also toured Oak Alley Plantation. We drove almost non-stop back to Birmingham and capped off the trip with the sighting of the Blood Moon around Tuscaloosa. In the words of Dorothy, theres no place like home, and both Tallulah and Elmo were glad when the daddies walked in the door. In closing I want to thank all of you who sent birthday wishes to me yesterday. It touched my heart to see so many remembrances from friends old and new and to the best pet sitter in the world Kathy Stiles Freeland who cared for our babies while we were away. What at trip!!!
