Mixed bag of events. Late last night after I had gone to bed and - TopicsExpress

Mixed bag of events. Late last night after I had gone to bed and finally drifted off, I heard a boom. Knew what it was, just hoped I was wrong. Found my dad on the floor, he apparently, misjudged where he was, and because his vision is just about gone, he was having trouble figuring out where he was. Needless to say, it was a restless night for me. We had talked about going to the senior site in the morning, as they were celebrating birthdays. We were also having a pizza party as a treat from the church. The last three weeks the city had been providing boxed lunches to the seniors all over the city, because as I understand it, the caterer in charge of hot lunches walked out. We normally only go once a week these days, but because it was the day we celebrate birthdays, my dad decided that he would like to go. Didnt know if after the fall he would be up to it. So this morning I checked with him and he still wanted to go. He needs to be out and socialize with other people other than me, so despite the fact that I tossed and turned most of the night, we went. The pizzas were from WHOLE FOODS. We also had the boxed lunches. I paid for our lunches thinking I would take them home and have them later. I never know what my dad is going to do. Hes been saying how tired he was off the sandwiches, and today he opted to eat the tuna fish, instead of the pizza. We stayed a while and talked with friends, then off to the bank and home. I have had a headache all day. So, I decided to lay down for a while, which I never do. Tonight I had a flood in the bathroom. First I had to unplug the toilet, which led to an argument from my dad about how he had nothing to do with it (which I really didnt need) followed by two and a half hours of clean up.) For a small room, it sure takes a long time to clean it up.) I had to take off my socks, roll up my pants and toss everything I could find in the bathroom, including the rugs in order to get all the water up. We have neighbors below, so of course, I am thinking of water damage. I have had this happen before, (with my dad denying that he has had anything to do with it) o I have come to expect his reaction, and try to tune him out, as it is more important to get the bathroom cleaned up than to win an argument. Didnt do much for my headache. Tomorrow I will take all the wet stuff down to the basement to be washed....to late to do it tonight. Counting my blessings. Roof over my head, food on the table, good friends and family--my support system.....and my dad is fine. Just wish we could have a little less excitement at night. Thank you to those of you who are still reading this. Just needed to vent.
