Mixed feelings. Twin bro keeps having ups and downs, they know found a bacteria, that would be the cause of his strokes. During the open heart surgery, they were able to remove several lesions on 2 of his heart valves, lesions they now found are due to this bacteria. What is has is Whipple endocarditis. Its an extremely rare forme of Whipples disease, in the US they only have 100 recensed cases, with very little information on therapy effectiveness, as post patients were diagnosed post mortem :( Curiously, my older brother got the same bacteria, 15 years ago, but it was the more common form, which affects the digestive system. He fully recovered, but this is puzzling that such rare illness happened twice in our family.
