Mmmmmm......Those were the only words I could muster after attending the 29th annual Premiers Concert this evening at the Ruth Seaton James Auditorium. I was literally speechless. The level of talent that was demonstrated on the stage was absolutely stunning. The audience was treated to first class musicians, soloists, drama production, artists, poetry......As the Minister of Community, Culture and Sport, Wayne Scott noted this evening...The Voice, American Idol and other talent shows have nothing on the level of talent that is in Bermuda. Im so proud of our young people. Their talent is testament to the hours, days, weeks even years of discipline, hard work and natural talent. Thanks also to the parents, teachers and well wishers who have nurtured their talent. I always say that while we dont manufacture anything to export to the world, what we do have in abundance is our natural talent and our intellectual capital. We are a small island, but we are well endowed...robust with talent! Congratulations once again to Mrs. Heather Whalen and her team at the Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs for arranging such a wonderful display of home-grown talent that can rival anyone - anywhere!
