Mockingjay part 1 is coming out! Next to the excitement about the movie, we are also very thrilled to start the next phase of the HPA’s We Are The Districts campaign! Last year we looked at all the seperate Districts, you might remember our weekly hangouts where we discussed several themes like gender inequality and homelessness, and comparing problems in the Netherlands and Belgium. This time the HPA is focused on your story, your struggles with the ‘capitol’. They want you to tell Your Hunger Games Story. Many people have experienced the realities of economic inequality in their own lives. You are encouraged to share your personal experiences with issues like education access, homelessness, hunger, workplace discrimination and any other issues that are caused by economic inequality. Share them on Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr using the #MyHungerGames, or read about other people’s struggles. These could be blogs, vlogs, poems, short stories, art, etc. If you feel uncomfortable sharing your story, you can submit your story anonymously to our Tumblr, and we can post it for you. Don’t forget to follow the WeAreTheDistricts.tumblr to read up on all the posts.
