Modesty, is is really old fashioned? When did modesty become the outcast vs. the norm. With todays fashions, Im somewhat appalled. Not only are the stereotypes for young girls, and as well boys, somewhat eased. My question, are they really? When did our mothers ever let us wear pajama bottoms in public? This is the least offensive. We have all had our fashion disasters, but I cringe as to what my father would say to a young lady wearing pajama or sweats in public with the word Juicy scrawled upon her backside. My father would have backhanded the first man/and or boy to make a comment. Yet, it is accepted. We teach our young girls that they are in charge of their bodies, but set them up for failure by letting them wear daisy duke shorts and lace tops with barely anything under them. If parents are buying and allowing certain clothing items to be purchased and worn; are we really teaching our daughters the proper thing? Its like saying to them: No matter what you wear honey and the attention you get, its never going to be your fault. Same with the boys with their jeans hanging half-way down their backside to look cool. When are the parents of today going to stand-up and make a change in the way our children our being allowed to dress and act. When will be teach them what is appropriate. If we dont, we are not protecting them, nor our grandchildren who will think nothing of it. Just a thought.
