Modi and his speech at UNGA....... Salient features. 1.) Todays private media is doing what even Doordarshan never did in control raj - Promoting the Govt. 2.) Majority seems to be forming the image that media is trying to create. However 3.) Modi said nothing new that was never said by the Indian PMs before. Except Yoga for climate change (now please do not laugh) 4.) There is no policy deviations of India from earlier stand. HOWEVER there was a great curiosity from many still. The reason I think was: 1.) The right wing supports wanted more. And now after seeing the speech are trying to create, read-between the lines kind of thing. 2.) With great curiosity, expectations and hopes the right wing guys remained glued to the TV sets. Only take away seems to be Yoga for them. 3.) For the rest it was more to see if he is still toing the line of RSS or not. Sure relief to many and disappointment to other.
