Modi is a debater and has the ability to pull crowds. But this ability is not sufficient to hold the post of prime minister. He is a member of the Rashtriva Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)...a party that is notorious for its alleged role in communal violence. It had been banned several times in India. Communal riots occur time and again in India. In most cases Muslims are the victims of these riots. Widespread anti-Muslim riots broke out throughout Gujrat in India in 2002. It is shocking that about 1000 to 2000 Muslims were burnt alive or beaten to death at the hands of Hindu communal forces in the western Indian state of Gujrat. Thousands of Muslims were injured in these riots. Modi was then the Chief Minister of Gujrat. His government was accused of taking insufficient action against the criminals.
