Modi is in a fix. He does not know how to keep the youth with him - TopicsExpress

Modi is in a fix. He does not know how to keep the youth with him till the elections for LS are over. Take the example of Anna Hazare. When he began his agitation, it appeared that the overwhelming majority was with him and, in Delhi, everybody was talking of him as if he were an incarnation of Gandhi. The corporate-controlled media and the pundits pontificating in discussions, quite often, decreed that the days of the UPA government were numbered. Now, where is Hazare and what is the state of his movement? Similarly, Modi initially aroused the interest of the youth by presenting himself as a forward-looking, dynamic messiah of development, who would create lots of employment opportunities and promote entrepreneurial energy. The corporates, whether Indian or foreign, had the illusion that he was going to nurture a real rightist alternative to the Congress, which Rajaji failed to create through his Swatantra Party. Now, it appears that the law of diminishing returns has set in. His power of attracting the youth is fast going down. He does not have any concrete programme to take the country onto the path of modernization. His seeming attempt to consign the communal agenda of his parent organization to the garbage has started back firing and tricks to make himself a mass leader have been exposed. In spite of all the efforts of APCO-World Wide, it appears that he will not be able to sustain his campaign for long whatever the corporate-controlled media and their lavishly paid pundits may say.
