Mojo has turned a corner — he is on the mend! After a rather harrowing day at the vet yesterday, the CT/CAT scan results at least told us that he isn’t in immediate danger. We initially went to have his eye looked at my the ophthalmologist, but she was concerned when she learned that he had been dragging his left legs since the surgery. The neurologist explained that he could have had a stroke, a tumour, swelling on the brain, etc. She wanted to do an MRI and a CT scan. We decided to start with a CT alone and see what that revealed. Although the vet wanted to see more, she said the CT was clear. Steph and I went with that as a clue that he was simply swelling a little and that watching and waiting was fine. Fast forward to 2:00 a.m. when he woke me up because he had to pee. This was monuments because he was closely resembling a limp piece of celery when we finally went to bed last night. But this early morning he bounded into the park with renewed energy and spirit. He’s coming back!! The eye doctor opened up some of the stitches and said she is concerned with the fact that the eye is facing sideways. I took a good look at some of the photos I’ve done of him and the right eye was always facing sideways a bit. Now we wait to see what all of this means in terms of his vision. For now, he’s home and healing. His gait is MUCH better today. He’s still groggy, but a million times better than he was on Monday or yesterday. Today we’re working on writing thank yous to all of your amazing folks who helped us. We’re still going to be fundraising for the rest of the bills. Watch for more info on that. Mojo, Streetsweep Festie Islander, Lucy, and I thank you all for your incredible support. If I ever needed proof that there is such a thing as a global village, this is it. Much love from us! Hug your furries! xxoo
