Mojo is amazing!!! I took Mojo ito have his special paw accessed. His paw is something that most likely was a result of too large of a litter for his mom, and he most likely got smashed up against siblings and developed his special paw as a result. The femur bone is SIGNIFICANTLY shorter then his other leg which will cause him issue down the road due to over stressing his shoulder muscles on his good leg (causing small tears as he ages), problems with his back due to not being correctly aligned as it should be, and cause problems with his hips. He advised that there is nothing that can be done surgically to correct all the defects because both his femur and ulna bones are affected and way to short for him to compensate the difference. So the choices are: Since this is normal to him and not painful, leave the foot as it is and get him fitted with a front cart so he can be mobile, but with the stress off one place so he can avoid torn muscles as well as back and hip issues so everything can be aligned. The other option is to allow him to grow a bit more (estimated age is 6 - 7 months) and then when he is 1 year old, to amputate the foot and have him fitted with a prosthetic leg. This may prove to be challenging due to where the amputation would be and the height difference of having bones that are profoundly different in length. Mojo will have another appointment with a different specialist to confirm this, but we are already leaning towards the cart route if the same information is given at his second consult. This guy is going to need donations to cover his next medical appointment and to cover the cost of a front cart. We of course will update once Mojo has his next appointment.
