Mom and Dad went to the hospital early this morning to get their meds supply (so yeah, Machang is functioning alright) and came home with a couple of stories to tell me, One, involving a lady whose son was trapped in K.Krai during the peak of the flooding last week. Her son and his family (4 people in total) were heading back to KL through Krai and they were not aware that Gua Musang was already on its way to becoming a lake then. Once they knew, they tried to head back home (the ladys house is in...gosh i forgot the name of the village..but at the edge of Machang, close to getting to Pasir Puteh) but they were stuck due to Krais rising waters. The highway/road was already flooded by then. With nowhere else to go, they decided to stay in a hotel/inn situated in Krais higher grounds and wait for the flood to subside (which would be a wise idea in the past, but not really in this years flooding). Before they know it, days passed and electricity was finally gone. With no food, they have no choice but to go and find some and luckily there was a stall selling rice nearby their inn. Guess how much did the owner price the dishes? RM10 just for a plate of plain rice; no sides, nothing (in Kelantan, normally a plate of rice+sides would cost
