Mom decided this morning around 6 am she was through fighting and had enough.... enough fighting the vent that is, so she pulled it out of herself! And she had her hands tied down when she did it. Luckily she is breathing strong enough not to have it put back in. But she irritated her esophagus because the balloon in her throat was not deflated when she decided to become her own respiratory therapist! Her infection in her intestines is back but no fever. She is in a lot of pain with her back from just laying in the bed for so long and at her multiple incision sites. She has tried 3 times this morning to get out of bed to go to work!
