Mom update: Her fighting spirit is amazing! She is already home! The doctor that did her surgery said it was the worst case of Achalasia that he has ever seen. Most people have 1.5 to 2 cm of an opening at the base of their esophagus. She had 1 mm. They were able to fix it so that it is now a half of cm. The doctors are pretty confident that she will be able to resume life and eat with us once again. Right now she is on a full liquid diet, which is awesome since she has not eaten for 2 years. When the feeding tube comes out is still a bit up in the air. But I can say that she is a fighter and is at home trying to recover. She is in a ton of pain, they had to do much more cutting then anticipated and they needed to have a little look see in her abdomen. For now, all is well. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts. I truly believe in the power of prayer and positive energy. :)
