Moment of truth #5: Robbie, my husband, is Gods gift to me. Today is an appropriate day to write about this, even though this hit me several weeks ago. Its our third anniversary today! Being married for three years is exciting, but I think the last six and a half weeks have been some of the sweetest. This has been the first real physical aliment weve had. Ive heard some pretty epic and gross married tales of holding buckets for spouses through stomach viruses... until the 17th of November we hadnt dealt with more than a few colds. As we drove home from the ER that night, I wondered how Robbie would handle having to take care of me. Once my brain was clear of percocet fog, I was able to appreciate how lovingly he was handling it. We had our moments and days of frustration and difficulty, but over all he has been taking pointers from Jesus example of washing the disciples feet. Robbie has helped me with everything from cutting my nails, to washing me, to helping me through panic attacks and emotional break downs. I love and respect him, and Im thankful that Ive had him with me the last six weeks and the last three years.
