Monday, 4/7/14, Another Official Pondering by Sam . . . At the time of this writing here in beautiful downtown Basin, Alabama we are getting ready to duck the severe weather that will be getting here in just a little while. A great big old bunch of ugly stuff is now just to the west of us. Now when the weather folks start talking about tornado watches and the like, we take these warnings seriously here in our tornado alley! I realize this stuff can be scary but lemonade can be made out of lemons. As I was standing on our front porch earlier I noticed a bunch of birds way up in the air just enjoying the heck out of the thermals. They were dipping and darting with no effort at all. I think we could all learn a simple lesson from this little event. Blessings can be enjoyed no matter what the circumstances. Well as I type right now that heavy weather has arrived. Rowdy Folks, its as dark as night. If you are under the gun with this atmospheric upheaval, hunker down and be careful! I have some thanking to do this morning. First of all, to all you Basinites who came to our workday Saturday at BBC. You accomplished so much wonderful work, blessings to you . . . may your tribe increase. Secondly, Thanks to the wonderful folks at Harmony Baptist Church in Andalusia. The Presence of the Lord is in your place and your hospitality to my folks and me was wonderful. May your tribe increase as you ministry grows. Thanks Brother Greg for your willingness to serve you wonderful church! Thirdly, Thanks to all of our folks who made the trip over to Harmony last evening. The BBC choir made this pastor so proud of your wonderful musical ministry. I think the Good Lord was patting His foot as you sang His praises. Finally, thanks to the to the other members of Basin 4 Him for singing for His Glory. I love you all!!!!!!!!!! I saw two congregations merge last night into an incredible oneness that only God Himself could put together! PTL! If it seems that I am humbly thankful to be the Pastor of Basin Baptist Church, you are so right. It is our goal to show Mercy in any way possible. Why dont you Rowdy Folks keep your faces to the Son so that His Mercy will flow through you today! Yep, we do!!!!!!!! The Word for the Day is . . . Superficiality! Superficiality is the curse of our age. The doctrine of instant satisfaction is a primary problem. The desperate need for us today is not for a greater number of intelligent people, or gifted people, but for deep people. We need to understand how to meditate, to worship, to think! We are told, Have this mind in you which was also in Christ Jesus. Blessings Rowdy Folks, Later on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
