Monday, January 27, 2014____ 8:31 am Saudi time Subject: Matthew 16:18-19________________________4/5 4. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, Always remember that Jesus did taught the early Christian in parables: Matthew 13:34 Jesus told the crowds all these things in parables, and He would not speak anything to them without a parable, 35 so that what was spoken through the prophet might be fulfilled: I will open My mouth in parables; I will declare things kept secret from the foundation of the world.[h]_____Holman Christian Standard Bible ****************************** Take note that Jesus here was talking to His disciples/apostles (read from the beginning of this chapter). Remember Jesus gave the keys (plural) meaning not only one key, but was it a literal keys and need many keys instead of one assuming that Jesus was talking to Peter? Was that keys were for apostle Peter alone? In the book of Micah 2:13 foretold somebody who will break open the gate for somebody to enter into._________so that...--->Hosea 1:11 Assuming that keys were already given to Peter, does it contradicted it in: Revelations 1:18 and the Living One. I was dead, but look—I am alive forever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and Hades. Revelations 3:7 “Write to the angel of the church in Philadelphia: “The Holy One, the True One, the One who has the key of David, who opens and no one will close, and closes and no one opens says: Who really has the keys? Jesus or Peter? Who open the door of faith to the Gentiles, was it Peter? NO! but the Lord did___(Acts 14:27) so we can have our way into the kingdom of God by means of tribulations (Acts 14:22) Hebrews 10:19 Therefore, brothers, since we have boldness to enter the sanctuary through the blood of Jesus, :20 by a new and living way He has opened for us through the curtain (that is, His flesh), __hscb it was the Lord Jesus who open and not Peter. Did you hear or even just read a single verse in the whole bible that Peter has opened something? absolutely none. What the apostles, including Peter did in their whole life?-------------->Acts 6:4 But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the preaching ministry.(read Acts 6:1-7)__hscb --------------->1 Thessalonians 2:8 We cared so much for you that we were pleased to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us. This is the whole duty of the apostles__to preach the gospel. So, the keys that Jesus gave is not a literal keys. What Peter and 11 others really received? This is authority and power of the Holy Spirit: This is what they received, Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you, and you will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends[b] of the earth.” (read Acts 1:4-8 hscb) When does this actually been given?------->John 20:21 Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.” 22 After saying this, He breathed on them and said,[d] “Receive the Holy Spirit. ___hscb (read John 20:19-22) Another thing Jesus did leave to His disciples----->John 14:26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. :27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.___KJV 5. whatever you bind on earth is already bound[l] in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth is already loosed[m] in heaven.____hscb ______________________________________5/5 Now, it is clear that the keys that was given, not only to Peter but for the 12 of them is authority and power. Revelations 20:4 Then I saw thrones, and people seated on them who were given authority to judge. ___hscb _________________thrones and people were setting which has the power or authority to judged. Who are they??? Matthew 19:28 Jesus said to them, “I assure you: In the Messianic Age,[k] when the Son of Man sits on His glorious throne, you who have followed Me will also sit on 12 thrones, judging the 12 tribes of Israel. Luke 22:29 I bestow on you a kingdom, just as My Father bestowed one on Me, :30 so that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom. And you will sit on thrones judging the 12 tribes of Israel.____hscb Matthew 18:18 Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.___kjv End of Matthew 16:18-19 May God bless you.
