I wasnt convinced she was all that comfortable on the surface in the early stages as she was settled in midfield with more in front of her than behind; she found herself in a pocket heading down to the final half mile but even when in the clear she took an age to pick up and Im not sure she would have got up even if she had started her run sooner, albeit she was staying on nicely. The winner, Asteroidea, a home-bred by Sea The Stars, provided her dam, 1,000 Guineas winner Speciosa, with her first winner as a broodmare - congratulations to all her connections. Result: Interject - 3rd Empire Maker x Introducing / Dark Bay Filly 21/3/11 Form: 9-83 Charlie Hills / James Doyle 8:40 - Ripon - Maiden - 8f A step in the right direction from Interject in the three-year-old maiden up at Ripon. Handy throughout, she tracked the eventual winner into the straight and did all she could to close him down but ultimately she was unable to find a way past as he powered on, despite the Juddmonte filly and Hesbaan closing all the time as they raced to the winning post; this was her best effort to date and if she can build on this, which you would be hopeful about given her three month layoff, it shouldnt be long before she gets that all important win next to her name.
