Monday, June 17 Peter was being kept in the prison; but prayer to God for him was being carried on intensely by the congregation.—Acts 12:5. Their prayers in behalf of their beloved brother were intense, heartfelt pleas. So the death of James had not plunged them into despair; nor had it caused them to view prayer as ineffective.
