Celebrating 21 years of Poetry Every Monday Night ............................................ About Godfrey L. Brandt... Author and Playwright, Brandt is a writer and arts management consultant interested in exploring human relationships and the socio-cultural dynamics of contemporary society. He is a former lecturer and programme director at Birkbeck University of London (Arts Policy and Management.) Having trained as an actor/director and teacher of Drama, language and speech at the Central School of Speech and Drama, Brandts credits include a number of plays, including Fugards Blood Knot in which he played Zach. A former head of Education at the Arts Council and Deputy Director General at the Commonwealth Institute with responsibility for education, the arts and cultural programming, Brandt has also been a theatre director (youth and fringe theatre) ; credits here include the Musical Oliver and the play Statements after an arrest under the immorality act. He has written work includes poetry, prose and drama as well as academic papers, and books. Brandt is the founding director of Couvade (Consultancy and artistic productions) and consultant development manager for Voice FM community radio in Southampton. About Steve Bloom... Steve Bloom is the author of three books of poetry and a Poetry CD. He has been the facilitator of the monthly Poetry for Social Activists workshop at the Brecht Forum in New York City, member of the board of the Southern Anti-Racism Network and active in the Campaign to Free Russell Maroon Shoatz. You can find his work at stevebloompoetry.net and scattered on other websites and in many print journals.
