MEETINGS Tomorrow, Sergeant Bodis from the Army National Guard will be hosting a presentation to explain the benefits of the G.I. Bill and answer any general questions that you may have about his branch of the military. Interested students need to sign up in the office to attend. Attention Youth in Government students: Our next meeting is tomorrow during 3rd hour in room 108. I will be issuing information sheets for payment deadlines, spring conference positions and etc. Teachers please excuse students after 3rd hour attendance. This meeting should last about 30 minutes. Students if you cant attend the full meeting, you need to see Mr. Lasceski before or after the meeting. Wednesday, October 30th there will be a meeting in the cafeteria at 10:00am for all girls who are interested in playing JV and Varsity Softball this spring. Attention all readers and book club members - The first book club meeting of the year will be after school in the library, at 3:45, tomorrow, for one hour. Be ready to share about one book you have really enjoyed reading, have ideas for the book club t-shirt, and discuss meeting days and times for the year. Looking forward to seeing you there!! Segment 2 D.E. Meeting: Date: November 1st Day: Friday Time: 9:20am (2nd Hour) Location: Gym All students who successfully completed Segment I are eligible to attend and sign up for one of the three sessions offered. DAY TO DAY INFO!! All students that are interested in going on the field trip to New York City but are not currently in an art or Spanish class must see Mrs. Gokey or Mrs. Piazza by tomorrow for the information packet. Attention Students, if your parents are in the military please stop in the high school office and see Mrs. Kukulski by Wednesday, October 30th. Freshmen: Please remember that your fundraiser forms and money are due today. Thank you for your participation. If you haven’t returned the brown “Concussion Awareness” form, please get these in today. Art club t-shirt money is due to Mrs. Piazza by Wednesday. The cost is $12, please make checks out to Vassar Public Schools. Attention Art Club and Art students - the sign-up sheets for the craft show and work day are posted outside the Art room. Sign up asap in order to fundraise for new York City! Attention Art club members: The first craft show workshop will be held on Thursday, October 31, from12:20-2:30 in the art room. Bring in $2 to help buy pizza for lunch and a sign-up sheet will be posted in the Art room for anyone who wants to help. All craft show proceeds go to fund the New York City trip. T.C. is having their annual Halloween sale. Send a Crush pop to your crush for one dollar or purchase caramel apple suckers for twenty-five cents. You may purchase it at lunch or in Room 202. SENIORS COLLEGE – UNIVERSITY DATE TIME Olivet College today 9:00 Grand Valley State University 10/30/2013 1:00 Delta 11/1/2013 2:00 Oakland 11/20/2013 9:00 SIGN UP SHEET IN SSC ATHLETICS For any girl in grades 9 -12 that might be interested in coming out for the High School gymnastics team this year. Our first practice will be today, at the Central Elm. Gym. Practice will be 5:30pm – 7:30pm. Little experience is necessary. Vassar: 8 Frankenmuth: 35 Scoring Leaders: Lamont Morrison scored on a 45 yard pass reception and DeAundre Callahan caught a pass for the 2 pt conversion. Rushing Layers: Tom Palmer had 7 carries for 50 yards. Passing/Receiving Leaders: Mike Pratt completed 22 of 37 passes for 163 yards. Dave Wargo caught 9 passes for 93 yards. Defensive Leaders: Colton Tyson had 9 tackles; Tom Palmer and Lamont Morrison each had an interception. Saturday the cross-country team traveled to Wagner Park for the Regional Meet, congratulations to everyone on a great performance at the Regional Meet. The boys’ team took 5th place out of 13 schools. Tom Goforth was the Regional Champ the 1st since 2002 with a 1st place finish and a CPR of 16:34, medaled and qualified for the State Meet, Dewey Rapson placed 7th with a CPR of 17:08, medaled and qualified for the State Meet, Todd Noblin had a CPR of 18:46, Chris Malow had a CPR of 18:56, Evan Kennard had a SPR of 19:21 and was 7 seconds from a CPR, Jason Hansard had a time of 19:34 and was 3 seconds from a CPR, and Bailey Leach had a CPR of 19:47. Maxime had a SPR of 23:44. The State Meet will be this Saturday at Michigan International Speedway. Congratulations to Tom and Dewey for making it to the State Meet for the 2nd year in a row and extending the season. Football equipment turn in will be tomorrow after school.
