Monday evening I attended the Alzheimers Association policy meeting. I lost one of my grandmothers to dementia and seeing that I know how hard diseases of the mind can be on the person, but also the families. We have to do more to study treatments and causes so we can stop the rising tide of folks getting some form of alzheimers or dementia! We have spent a lot of money of cancer and aids research and for that we have found many causes, treatments and cures. We need to at least extend the same kind of commitment to alzheimers as we have those other diseases.
