Mondo is home. Good God, hes a skeleton. He has a very far away look in his eye, like they do when theyve changed hands half a dozen times in as many months. :( Like they do when they have given up hope. Like they do when they despair of getting enough to eat. Thats all Ive asked him to do today - eat. Eat good fresh clean orchard grass hay, alfalfa pellets, senior feed and rice bran. Hes spoken with a few of the resident horses and is very calm. Hes quiet and obedient, if a little standoffish. Well get there. I know lungeing sounds like asking a lot, but if they work, they use the increased nutrition to start to rebuild muscle.
