Kampala- Daily Monitor will tomorrow start serialising a book about Dr Kizza Besigye, a political activist and former leader of the biggest Opposition party, FDC. The book titled Kizza Besigye and Uganda’s Unfinished Revolution authored by Mr Daniel Kalinaki, chronicles Dr Besigye’s life. It takes the reader through his days as a doctor at Mulago hospital, his early attempts at business, his time in the bushes of Luweero, his perspective of the seeds of corruption in Uganda and how he won over Winnie Byanyima, among other scintillating details. Mr Kalinaki is a Ugandan journalist based in Nairobi, Kenya. “We have chosen to serialise this book because as a newspaper that believes in creating perspectives for our readers, we believe this will create debate and from that debate the public will benefit from the perspectives of the different public players who are mentioned in the book,” Mr Charles Odoobo Bichachi, the managing editor in charge of content, said yesterday. Mr Bichachi added that the book is just one perspective of the events of the last 25 years and there are many other perspectives. He said Daily Monitor hopes that serialising the book will stimulate other people, especially those who have held high offices or interfaced with power, to write books to help the younger generation learn from past events.
