Monsanto Rapes the American Farmer.... The lonely man knocked off his dusty boots. Looking back upon the fields he had sewn. Would he ever be able to realize the fruits Of his labor before his livelihood is gone? He grew up here on this land of the free Reaped the harvest with his father each year This is all this farmer knows you see This land is his land entirely free and clear Corporate America wants to sink it’s claws Into the only place he holds near and dear Snatching away without so much as a pause Where will he be this time next year What do they know these engineers Of research and propaganda based theory Manufactured foods in a facility Taking away a living for you and me Hybrid foods to feed American youth Scientists and developers with biotechnology Please allow the farmer some recoup He is what this country is about you see Monsanto wants to control pollenization through tools marketed as research, oh my We must all come to the realization That this will allow the American farmer to die Choking him of his importance to society While coporate America continues to soar Seems this is not based on relativity But who’s pockets can be stuffed full bore Listening now, the dusty farmer glances At his tractor, feeling he has abandoned All of her years of loyalty with any chances that yet another harvest time is gone Listen now……can you hear it? Didn’t think so…… He glances as the key in his hand His tractor’s silence speaks volumes Janet M. Martin 5-19-2013 © 25 June, 2013 Janet Whitley Sylvia Martin. All rights reserved.
