Monsanto in 1 minute (2 minutes if you stop to think about it!) 1901: Founded by Pharmaceutical Industry veteran - John Francis Queeny - Product Saccharine 1920: Expanded Into Industrial Chemicals- Products Sulfuric Acid, PCBs (BANNED BY US IN 1977 – Causes Cancer) 1936: Acquired Thomas & Hochwalt Laboratories for their Chemical expertise 1943: Government asks Monsanto to assist in the development of the Manhattan Project (atomic bomb) – which they did. 1944: Developed herbicide DDT (Banned in the US in 1972 due to adverse health effects on wildlife and Humans) 1946: Develop “ALL” Laundry detergent, and sell it to the LEVER Brothers. 1960s-1970s: Developed Agent Orange for use in the Vietnam War (now known cause of dozens of diseases ranging from Cancer to Spina Bifida in Children of people who were exposed) 1970: Developed Herbicide “Round UP” 1994– 2008: Produced and sold Bovine Growth Hormone drug for dairy farmers (major retailors from Starbucks to Costco eventually rejected milk with this product present for health and humane reasons) 1995: Successfully Genetically modified potato seeds and produced first plants that produce their own pesticides (poison) as they grow. 1996: Begin Patenting Round Up Ready Seeds (seeds that combine pesticides at the genetic level) 2005: Become largest GMO seed supplier in the world - Genetically Modified Seeds that produce their own toxic chemical defense against insects as they grow, allowing farmers to grow more food per acre with less crop loss. 2010: International buzz about GMO Seeds and health concerns. 2014: Countries that have partially or totally banned Genetically Modified seed products because of growing health concerns: Italy Austria France Germany Luxembourg Portugal Greece Spain UK Switzerland Norway Australia New Zealand Thailand Philippines Saudi Arabia Egypt Algeria Brazil Paraguay Russia My thought – For the first 90 of the 113 years Monsanto has been in business, they repeatedly made chemical compounds and widely distributed them into our world - that made people sick or dead. Then they decide to get into the food business - Now they’re asking us to EAT their chemically modified experimental seeds. Seeds that product insecticide as a feature of the plant when it grows. The latest figure is 75 – 85 % of ALL processed food products in the us have some form of this chemically, genetically modified Monsanto product in it. If it doesn’t say Organic or GMO Free on the label, you’re pretty much part of the test group friends. You cant smell it. You cant taste it. But youre in it.
