Occasion: Yazid celebrating the brutal massacre of the family of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) Purpose: to humiliate and to torture the prisoners (children and the women of the family of the Prophet Muhammad) Victory Trophy: the severed head of Imam Hussain (the grandson of the Prophet pbuh) was kept in the middle of the hall, covered with a cloth. Which was uncovered and shown to the women and children of prophets family. _____________________ Yazid pointed his finger towards Bibi Zainab the daughter of Ali-ibn-Talib (grand daughter of the Prophet), and taunted her by saying -- See even the God has said in Quran, Chapter no 3, Verse no 26 : You honor whom You will and You humble whom You will. The the daughter of Ali-ibn-Talib replied back to Yazid: dont cherry pick the verses of the Quran, read the entire verse in its context. Bibi-Zainab recited many verses of Quran and gave a sermon. She proved to the entire crowd in Yazids palace, that Yazid is a criminal, he might kill but he cant match the knowledge of the children of the Prophet (pbuh). ____________________ Bibi Zainabs reply to Yazid is a lesson for everyone. dont cherry pick the verses of the Quran, read entire verse in its context.
