Moral in this post is this: You cant fix a problem with the same consciousness that created it. Albert Einstein People today are consumed with doubts about their relationships. Have I found the right partner? Am I being true to myself? As a result there is a restless kind of consumer shopping for partners. The path to love, however, is never about externals. The person you are with at this moment IS the right person, because he/she is a mirror of who you are on the inside. Every fault you see in them touches a denied weakness in yourself. The path to love clears up a monumental mistake that someone out there is going to give or take something that is not already yours. When you truly find love, you find yourself Humanity is under great pressure to evolve because it is our only chance of survival as a race. This will affect every aspect of your life, and close relationships in particular. Never before have relationships been as problematic and conflict ridden as they are now. As you may continue to pursue the goal of salvation through a relationship, you will be disillusioned again and again and again. But if you accept that the relationship is here to make you conscious instead of happy, then you will be aligning yourself with the higher conscious that wants to be born into this world. For those who hold on to the old patterns, there will be increasing pain, violence, confusion, and madness. SO, The inevitable question is this: why do we want to expose our vulnerable conflicted selves to someone else? Because we want to love. We take the risk, we walk out into light and offer ourselves to a beloved. This feels wonderful, but when things get tough we run back inside ourselves. We choose the familiarity of fear and lovelessness over the vulnerability of love, until we feel safe enough to go back and try love again. That is essentially the rhythm of every intimate relationship - risk and retreat. Until finally something miraculous happens. We look around and we’re living in light. Love has been silently weaving our higher and lower natures – blending fear, anger, survival, and protection into the energy of devotion, trust, compassion, and acceptance. Tragically, our culture does not teach us to see love this way, and not enough couples ever finish the path to love. Deepak Chopra and Eckhart Tolle
