Morality and Human world or Humanity Morality is the decisive foundation of the decline and progress of the mankind and the place where they live. If morality observed in high regard, the whole mankind and the world will flourish in peace and well-beings so do it. If morality is in low regard, the mankind and the world will be deemed in down position. It is stated, in Cakkavatthi sutta of Dīghanikāya, by Buddha himself, that in the past, kings ruled the five precepts as national laws, supporting and protecting their people by practicing meritorious deeds- by giving basic requirements to who were in need of it, giving bonus to the ministers and the generals; sparing the animals, supporting four requirements to ascetics ; observing good conducts visiting the virtuous and well-learned for good advices; following the advices of the virtuous and well-learned. And people also were of good conducts and following the king. As the result of their good conducts and behaviors, the world was prosperous in its soil, so that people could grow the paddy and reaped well harvest. Then people were living long life, having good appearance. They underwent no other disease except three kinds- greed, hunger, and ageing. They were good healthy every town and city of the whole country flourished and prospered. This was the result of the condition of well establishment of morality in the country. But the eighth king did not follow his ancestors’ path. He did not practice what a king needs to for the development of mankind. He failed to support the poor, respect the elder. From that time on, the poor grew in number. As consequence of that, the crime such as theft, killing, and lies came into front in country. Due to these unwholesome actions of human beings, human life span become gradually shortened, from eight thousand years to four thousands and it continually decline to ten years. Human encountered the downfall of beauty weak, pleasure and strength gradually. The fertile soils were depleted, so paddy fields were dried in farm. This was the fallout of immoral actions of mankind in human history. At ten years of life span, human race had been plagued by general epidemics. Due to the bitter suffering of epidemics human beings woke up from ignorance and cultivated morality the five precepts starting from Pānātipāta- not killing. Hence, again human life span became prolonged years of ten years. And they had become good looking, healthy and wealthy.
