More Abbott government secrets to hide alarming facts. They cant wait to crack down on internet freedom to comply with the TPP - leaks show this includes a three strikes provision that forces ISPs to monitor and police our activity online. The Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a secret, global pact to allow corporations to sue the Australian government for billions - just for passing laws to protect our health or the environment. Aggressive corporations like Monsanto will have the right to sue for supposed lost profits in secret international courts, forcing governments to crack down on online and offline protest and and even the sharing of information they wish to suppress. Of course, the Abbott-corporate government thinks this is all a good thing, and are happy to sign away our democracy so a few privileged sectors (mates from the big end of town) have a chance of making huge profits while other sectors of the economy suffer from the huge influx of cheap goods and services local employers cannot compete with. While spinning it as simply a free trade deal getting a better deal for ordinary Australians, Abbott and his cronies are refusing to make the deal public - although corporate lobbyists seem to be getting the inside track. When will it be possible for the people to sue bad governments for making secret deals that subvert their democratic rights??? And the right to repeal any such deal once the full facts are known? Think how much global suffering this would end! Abbott knows we wouldnt agree with the TPP, that’s why he wants it to stay confidential - he’d prefer to quietly sign away our rights without a big fuss. MARCH IN MARCH 2014 this Sunday March 16 in most capital cities. Google it or facebook search it.
