More Objectivist inanity on patents. Here they are hemming and hawing about patents and optimal patent terms. I can tell you as a patent attorney and IP attorney they are pretty cluless about what they are even talking about. They talk about patent law providing incentives etc. Well where does this reasoning end? They talk about it being the rules of the game--well thats nice! Lots of socialist and legislated systems publicize the unjust rules. So what? They talk about how they are not sure about the optimal patent term; yet they have opinions! They use the propaganda term intellectual property, which is of course just disingenuous and question-begging. THey dont seem to realize there is no stopping point to this incentive approach--tons of fields of innovation are not covered by IP now--fashion designs, etc. So they would logically have to argue for a huge expansion of IP law. (BTW is that Richard Ebeling sitting there on the side listening in Part II? He looks familiar whoever he is) And part II: youtu.be/qi1ZLKCBtUo?list=UUd0PPoVvvKYt4k_RJCDtyiQ
