More X 1.8 Flare Photos December 20, 2014 Solar Activity and Time Shift Activity Report Here are some great photos of the earlier X 1.8 flare from Earth facing sunspot 2242. Both photos are from SOHO, and they show a medium shot and a wide shot of the X flare at its most intense. I can also report that this X flare did not trigger a radiation storm - which is a good thing. It did, however, trigger an R3 radio blackout which has already passed.
