More and more life lessons. I am a little disappointed in myself for having to relearn some fundamentals about life and being a human being, yet facts are facts and truth is truth. This week challenged me a lot as I permanently parted ways from an almost twenty year old friendship and as a result missed another friends wedding. The latter is inexcusable, so an apology and amends were/are in order. Regarding the former, when reciprocity, balance, mutual respect, and a healthy understanding of intelligence and human wisdom are absent, I consider it completely respectful and understandable to cut ties and separate. The life lesson that has become so crystal clear regarding human relations is for me to never trust anyone again who has more pride than knowledge, more ignorance than intelligence, more arrogance than humility, more ego than understanding and heart, and more selfishness than reciprocity. For me, those who dwell somewhere other than their hearts will have no place in mine. Furthermore, when committing to something important to a good friend, relation, or loved one, I should not let anything get in the way to honor the the commitment and the friendship.
