More big news out of Drogheda Lightning as HC Russell Kerley announces his retirement from playing: After due consideration, I wish to announce my retirement from playing the sport I love! I will of course retain the clip board for the rest of this season, and for the 2015 season, if my services are retained, I want to thank John Durrad Al Burke for allowing a Blow in Brit make his mark in the Irish league, back in 2007. also to Coach Tony Allen, for having the balls to tell me I was too short to play QB at the top level and teaching me LB craft, but most of all I want to thank Catherine Kerley and Michael John Kerley for allowing me to do my thing! without ye, I would not have come this far, and Also to Rob Mason, Joe St. Louis and Nigel Hoyte of the London Ravens for allowing a 13 year old kid take his first ever snap, that was to lead to a 20 year playing career. for this, I am truly blessed.
