More details from the recent Dept of Planning RE Splendours performance at North Byron Parklands in July. These observations have to do with the post-event traffic performance report that the developers submitted to the Department : Department-required aerial photography was not included in the report. Overhead photos would have shown how badly the traffic was affecting the local roads. Wonder why the developers didnt meet that requirement? The submitted report also doesnt include the observations made by security personnel and police who saw inappropriate use of the critically-important Yelgun interchange rest area (for example, campers setting up in the rest area). Another notable omission. With such omissions, the developers report on traffic management certainly portrayed their performance to be a lot better than it actually was. Were glad the Dept of Planning asked SMEC, the professional consulting firm, to critique the report!
