More fascinating CHEESE. They put a Penrose drain in later to further facilitate drainage. When treatment is over they can just pull it out and it heals. A JP drain is cleaner (it drains in a closed bulb)-- though but considering its his face the penrose was better indicated (its a lot lighter but you have to change the dressings frequently). Apparently they sent him home after surgery with written prescriptions for oral antibiotics - he would really be better off staying in the hospital with IV (intravenous) antibiotic administration and monitor for infections, OR home health with IV antibiotics.
