More from Rob the Music Man - Wangaratta Jazz & Blues Festival (Cup Day Long Weekend) I was basking in the sun in the main drag of the township of Wang’ – listening to three bands, both jazz and blues. Here’s three short reviews to give you a flavour of the day. Number 1 - The Sydney Army Band was excellent, playing well known jazz tunes. They had the coolest dressed lead singer/bass player – sun glasses plus Army attire! Was he Sergeant Pepper? The versatile Diggers made rhythm changes half and three quarters through the songs,reminding me of (ahem, cof!) the changes through ‘the best album ever made’ (in my humble opinion!) ‘Get Yer Yas Out’ – Rolling Stones - on the track ‘Midnight Rambler’ Give your ears a treat – listen!
