More gifts from my friend Ebrima from The Gambia in West Africa. I - TopicsExpress

More gifts from my friend Ebrima from The Gambia in West Africa. I dont know many men who get a thrill out of buying clothing for women, but he seems to have enjoyed himself. Traditional clothing, like these dresses, are made to order. The cloth is made and Tie & dyed locally. It doesnt get any more authentic. I am looking forward to being able to wear them when the weather is warm. The Gambia is a very small country, only around twice the size of Maryland. It is a poor country without any oil, diamonds or gold. There are very few jobs & no real industry. But what they do have is a country full of happy, friendly people whose economy depends greatly on the tourists who vacation there. This year will be a very poor year for The Gambia because the tourists are not coming like they normally would. Even though there is no Ebola within their country, people are too scared to vacation there. In a country where so much is dependent on the arrival of the tourists, their failure to show up will have a serious impact on the people. I am hoping that they will have continued success in keeping the Ebola, because I want to be able to go there to visit in another year. Ebrima has accepted me as a member of his family, a sister, and I want to meet the people of my brother.
