More info on Mesnes Park. I received an email received today from a representative of Wigan Leisure & Culture Enterprises Limited that I have been corresponding with. "Hello Barry, Thank you for emailing as you can see our Greenspaces team have now cleaned up on site and I would like to thank you for bringing this to our attention. In response to you contacting me previously, I have organised two lake clean ups, additional to the work that is already done. Open spaces such as this which have access 24 hours a day 365 days a year provide many challenges including anti-spcial behaviour and littering. In terms of anti-social behaviour , we have worked with the Friends of Mesnes Park to secure funding to put on diversionary activities in the summer holidays and we are working closely with Greater Manchester Police to have a more co-coordinated approach to tackling this issue. Sadly, littering is a national problem, however, we as an organisation endeavour to react as quickly as possible to such instances as the ones highlighted. Thank you once again for emailing me.
