More like him need to keep speaking up and more moderate muslims in America, who have knowledge, education, money, and a passion to change things have to stop looking for pathetic reasons to feel insulted and come together; as I saw so many do during the latest escalation in Palestine. They must start domesticating their beliefs into a 21st center multicultural effort. This takes much more than pretending all the problems are somewhere else. This is a global issue and very real ideological threat only because of the absolutist dictates found within Islam. The more rational members of muslim communities need to remove the power from religious teachers and hardened Imams and develop a path to a truly revitalized Islam that emphasizes a willingness to be criticized and to exemplify a path toward human solidarity. The greatest solution would be for believers to take the courageous step and spend the time and effort inquiring into the absurdities of all faith and drop it once and for all. Wishful thinking I know!
