[More politics stuff, ignore it if you want, but this time its pretty damn important...] Britains first secret trial was held today. By secret, this would mean that the public does not know the crime or the suspect, members of the government can be substituted for witnesses, and even the suspect him/herself may not even be allowed into the courtroom to fight their case or be allowed to see the evidence against them. Even the Daily Mail agrees, this is totally wrong on every level and should be protested against. Its an unparralleled breach of civil liberties more in common with something in a totalitarian regime than a supposedly democratic country. (Although every day since the Tories took power has seen this country increasingly resembling an oligarchy/plutocracy, but thats beside the point...) And yet still, nobody seems to really care about it or be doing anything to protest! Although I suppose we cant do anything now, seeing as we could all just be put in prison or otherwise disposed of without any chance of a fair trial... Seriously! Why is nobody doing anything about this?! What little democracy is left in this country is at stake!
