More seriously, this makes a lot of sense about why Sony was so - TopicsExpress

More seriously, this makes a lot of sense about why Sony was so quick to back out of The Interview. According to the leaked emails from the company, no one in the world seems to like the film (except maybe some youthful, male Australians). The company didnt have much faith in the film, and rather than showing a bad movie upfront and facing a major loss, theyve used the threat opportunity to pull out and release it later after the film gains the free press its generating right now (example: this post). Maybe its shameful to look at things that are posted without the consent of the originators, but here are the leaked emails: defamer.gawker/leaked-emails-the-interview-sucked-for-sony-even-befor-1671234001 Theres a lot of talk between Sony and potential international distributors. This international conversation puts it all in much better perspective for me--its not so much that Sony is selling out as anti-patriots and giving in to threats of terrorism; theyre selling out for the sake of business under the facade of self-sacrifice and American safety, which only happens to come off as anti-patriotic and giving in to threats of terrorism.
