There are many sectors where general public suffer like cattle everyday and even after repeated complaint and media reports things never change for them, as if we Islanders are living under a curse, curse of remoteness and corruption. One such sector is Inter-Island Shipping, where none of the ferry vessels are in good shape. Due to corruption and underhand dealings these vessels have become floating junkyards. In none of the inter-islands vessel one can find more than 50 percent of ACs in working condition. Most of the time the ACs in passengers’ hall, are out of order. Even from looking at these vessels from outside one can understand that how badly these vessels need maintenance and proper care. Because of the negligence and worse upkeep, even a two hour long journey appears as a journey to hell for passengers. Now passengers hope that someday the new Lt. Governor will pay a surprise visit to the Phoenix Bay and Fisheries Jetty and will inspect the conditions of ready to said vessels for public. Hope before such surprise visit the DSS will repair all the inter-island vessels. d Shipping, where none of the ferry vessels are in good shape.
