More than 200 seniors gathered at the Senior Center of Sidney-Shelby County to celebrate Senior Citizen’s Day Tuesday morning. Center Director Eileen Wiseman welcomed those in attendance for the luncheon, which was provided by the Sidney Care Center and served by seventh grade students from Holy Angels School. Sidney Mayor Mike Barhorst read a proclamation issued declaring the day Senior Citizen’s Day in Sidney. In the Mayor’s proclamation, Barhorst noted that individuals 65 and older represent 11% of Sidney’s population and represent the fastest growing age group around the world. thesidneypost/local-residents-celebrate-senior-citizens-day/
