More updates from Jammu & Kashmir In the aftermath of the floods, heres a quick wrap up of what weve done so far in numbers • Chlorine tablets - 311,020 in J&K (154,000 in Srinagar alone) • Community water filters - 8 • Water tanks in the camps – 2 (of 1000 litres each) • Disinfected water tanks in different Srinagar hospitals – 7 • Repaired water treatment plants – 26 • Water samples tested for chlorine – 51 • Bleaching powder distributed – 1820 kg • Households that received buckets, hygiene kits & emergency shelter kits – 4,855 • Households that have been provided essential NFIs (non-food items) in the worst affected Dal lake areas – 400 • Neighbourhoods cleaned of debris – 4 • Water sources chlorinated in Pulwama and Kulgam districts – 300 • Hand pumps chlorinated in the three submerged districts – 126 Dry ration distribution is closed in Jammu. This was to address the immediate food gap of the most affected communities, before government food ration provision begins to kick in systematically.
