Mornin.. Pills in.. Coffee going down. Its bright and sunny right now. It casts shadows on the lawn as we sit in its already fading darkness provided by the mountain in back of us. We may see it later on in the day. The rooster across the road calls. No breeze.. The coming cold has lessened its grip on me temporarily. Bets is back to her toiling for the day. Rocky and his boy have yet to stir.. Im warm and comfortable.. Moving slowly through this day. Our Christmas was very quiet. Betsys brother and a friend came for dinner and a few drinks and conversations. Thanks Russ and Beth.. As usual it was a very good time and we were happy to see you both. Bets and I just slept and relaxed over the last few days. The world outside my window held no sway. Crows now call from the edge of the woods in the sun light. About 3 more months until they start breeding a new season of young ones. The return of a new season begins. They are loud and boisterous now and I hope they are strong and prolific... They are quite close now. Im waiting to see them gather at the edge of the road for bits of gravel, salt and road kill. Strutting boldly and calling. They are a few yards from the house now and I smile. I hear a strange strangling sound now. Like a chicken being throttled and the crows have gone silent for a few minutes. They have begun to chortle again amongst themselves in murmuring tones and the chickens have gone silent. I sip another sip of coffee and watch the sun return to my lawn briefly. The quietude returns with sun. Im at peace and thankful. Rocky barks now from the window in EBoys room and I hear his clomping foots steps. A chicken starts a disturbing chortle again. Something is a foot.. Im thinking with this warm weather, fox and coyotes are a foot and foraging. My day begins.. A long bath is in order. A few dishes. A restart of laundry. Bad moves and the shortening wait for Bets to come home... My harps need cleaning and Ill soak them just before she comes home to start another day off and can sit around the table until we renew our need of sleep.. No need to cook.. Plenty of leftovers await. Hope everyone can enjoy the day peacefully.. Love people. Love...
