Morning Devotion Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet - TopicsExpress

Morning Devotion Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. (James 1:2-8 ESV) Summary Teaching Temptation is everywhere, in our homes, the church, our work places, just everywhere! How do you respond when you are tempted? Do you treat temptation with bitterness and hatred? Do you apply the rules of self defense as many would claim? What is joy? How do you know or identify joy? JOY should be define for us believers as: J-Jesus first, O-Others second, and Y-Yourself last. I know that this is difficult, it is very painful to put yourself last. Jesus taught is disciples that the least in His kingdom is the greatest. If you are in Christ and He is in you, this should be a problem for you. Jesus left it all for us, He walked on that lonely road to Calvary for us, what cant we do that which He has commissioned us to do? Temptation is sure for us as long were living; when we wake up in the morning, temptation wakes up with us. But the question here this morning is: how do you deal with temptation? James calls us to count it all Jesus, Others, and Yourself! No body in their right frame of mind will ever want to hurt themselves. We who are tempted, we who are involved in a conflict, are told to be joyful! Because out of that joy our faith is being made firmed, and out of that firmness, we are being transformed through the working of Gods Spirit! Wisdom is of God, we are to ask Him for it. Wisdom isnt what the world gives, it is Gods attribute; we are to seek it diligently by the Spirit of God. Matthew 7 told us to ask and it shall be given, we should seek and we will find, we should knock, and the door shall be opened! Wisdom is to be pursue in faith and not doubt; those who are double-minded cannot be given Gods gift of wisdom, it is only faith that is put into action will reap the fruit of Wisdom! I charged you friends, as you go on your journey this morning, ask God to make your heart joyful, ask Him to lead you as you face the world this morning. Pray and seek His ways(Wisdom) as you go on your journey. Pray that you should continue trusting God and His Word as you endure in this world. Never be wise in your own eyes, seek Gods guidance and let Him lead you as you lead others to do even from your home. May God bless you and keep you~ Amen!
