Morning... In what has now been a sorrowful 24 hours, in my dreams and thoughts I think WE NEED to be aware that depression is NOT the only mental health crisis going on in America. We now live in a society where everyone has pillow resiliency... and this starts from how we teach our children at home, how we teach them right and wrong and how we discipline and show them the law of consequences, cause and effect. So Im a believer that if we dont teach our children how to deal with disappointment, failure, name calling , and self worth and accept the institution of education to declaw our natural rights to enforce punishments then we are going to be looking at children who cant handle anything, especially their emotions AND whom will act in rage and in violence when they feel they have been treated unjustly. I hurt for these families, because I could have been sitting in my car waiting for pickup of my boys and could have been witnessing this type of horrendous crime to officers who are meant to be a positive and deterrent present in that community where my boys go to school. I hurt because these officers have family that they said see you later to that morning and never made it back. I hurt because our youth are losing their minds and are losing their value for life. I hurt because I have to explain to my boys why me and Roberr push them so hard AGAIN and AGAIN, so they are elevated about mediocracy and will self correct themselves if they go astray. I hurt because our Black communities are indirectly judged to be in accordance with this knuckleheads suicidal mission and his goal. Police are here to serve and protect us, and while we face a lot of injustices lets remember that we have fantastic officers who take the charge with the uncertainties of their mortality each day for people they dont know or who have a problem with them. Sorry for such a long rant. Its bad and its hurtful. I didnt sleep well because this has started a new wound in our communities, and in NY. (Think Ill be copying this and posting it as my status)
